Sending ETA Texts via the ServiceCore Mobile App

For drivers, sending an Estimated Time of Arrival (ETA) text is a crucial touchpoint with clients, enhancing transparency and trust. The ServiceCore mobile app provides a straightforward way for drivers to communicate their arrival times to site contacts. This guide explains the two methods drivers can use to send ETA texts from the mobile app and emphasizes the importance of using the latest version of the app for optimal functionality.

Before You Start

  • Latest App Version: Ensure that you are using the latest version of the ServiceCore mobile app. Regular updates often include new features, improvements, and bug fixes.
  • Driver Action Required: A driver must actively send an ETA text to maintain accuracy and reliability in communication.

Sending ETA Texts 

There are two locations with two separate workflows for sending ETA texts:

From the Mobile App Homepage

Drivers can send an ETA text from the Homepage (schedule view) in the ServiceCore mobile app:

  1. Actions Menu: On the Homepage, click on the 'Actions' button to reveal the menu.
    Send ETA: You will see the options 'View on Map and Send ETA' and 'Send ETA Text'.
  2. Automated Route Workflow: By tapping either of these buttons, an ETA text will be sent to the site contact for the first non-completed job listed on your schedule, assuming you are following the route from top to bottom.

From the Job Details Page

For sending an ETA to a specific site out of sequence:

  1. Job Selection: Select the specific job from your schedule to navigate to the Job Details page.\
  2. Job Menu: Tap the three dots menu in the upper right corner of the screen.
  3. Direct ETA: Choose the 'Send ETA Text' option. This action will send an ETA text with your drive time to the site contact for that particular job, regardless of its position in your schedule.

Sending ETA texts through the ServiceCore mobile app is a feature designed to keep clients informed and drivers accountable. By following these steps, you can ensure your clients are always in the loop regarding service timing, thereby fostering a stronger, trust-based relationship with them. Always remember to check for the most recent app updates to utilize all the available features effectively.
