Assigning Products & Inventory to a Yard
When you are configuring your Yards, all Products/Inventory defaults to having a Yard value of Unassigned. When you are assigning Products/Inventory to a Yard and the From Yard is “Unassigned” the Transfer Job workflow is a little different. When you are transferring units with a From Yard there is no Yard to retrieve the units from, leading to the Transfer Pick Up job not being created, only the Transfer Delivery Job will be created. The Transfer Delivery Job will display on the schedule in the unassigned column for the day the Transfer was scheduled and will act like all other Transfer Delivery jobs.
Transfer Pick Up Jobs from Unassigned
When you are assigning units to a Yard for the first time and create a Transfer with a From Yard of Unassigned we will still create a Transfer Pick Up Job. This is required to break the association of Itemized units with the Unassigned Yard prior to assigning to the new Yard
- Assign the Transfer Pick Up Job to the individual assigning the units to the Yard
- For Itemized Inventory, select the units you want to no longer be in an Unassigned Yard
- You can select units by clicking the check box in the web or mobile app or by scanning units in the mobile app
- Complete the Transfer Pick Up Job
Transfer Delivery Jobs from Unassigned
Completing a Transfer Delivery job with a From Yard of Unassigned is the same as completing any other Transfer Delivery Job or a standard pick up job.
- Assign the Transfer Delivery to the individual who will be assigning the units the Yard (likely the same person as the Transfer Delivery job)
- For Itemized Inventory, select the units you want to be assigned to the To Yard
- You can select units by clicking the check box in the web or mobile app or by scanning units in the mobile app
- Complete the Transfer Delivery Job
