Deactivate and Reactivate Itemized Inventory

If you have rental inventory in need of repair, you can remove that item from inventory while it's being serviced. When you deactivate an item, it still appears in your list of inventory. However, that item will not be available for rental jobs until it's ready to go back in service.

In this article, you'll learn how to deactivate and reactivate itemized inventory.

Before You Start

Here are some things to know before you deactivate inventory:

  • You will need Owner or Admin level permission to deactivate and reactivate inventory
  • Only itemized (serialized) inventory can be deactivated
  • Deactivating an item does not delete it from your inventory
  • Deactivating an item will remove it from your active inventory
  • When an inventory item is inactive, it will not be available for rental delivery, service, or pick-up jobs until it is reactivated
