12/9/2021 Release - Job Lists Date Range Improvements, Route Optimization Help Article Resources, and more

The items mentioned below will be available on or after December 9, 2021. To see these new features you will need to do a hard refresh in your browser. Here's how to Get the Latest Version of ServiceCore.

Job Lists Date Range Improvements

When you look at lists of jobs in ServiceCore, it will now be easier to filter those jobs by date and to control how you view repeat jobs. We have made a few improvements to the job lists that we hope will save you enough time each day so you can grab that extra cup of coffee and spend less time clicking around the system.

Here's what's changed...

Before Today
"From" and "To" Dates
  • The date range filters for job lists required you to enter in a "From" and a "To" date
  • If you wanted to see jobs since the beginning of time through today, or from today through the end of time, you couldn't

"From" and "To" Dates
  • The date range filters for job lists now allow you to enter in only a "From" date or only a "To" date
  • You can now see jobs since the beginning of time through today, and through the end of time

Date Format

Dates were formatted with the month fully spelled out and ordinal numbers (1st, 2nd, etc.) This caused dates to be cutoff during most months of the year.

Date Format

Dates will now display with numbers and slashes, for example: 12/31/2021. The dates will also now fit within the "From" and "To" date fields without being cutoff.

Typing In Dates
  • You were limited in how you could type in dates and have them work correctly
  • For example, if you typed in "1/1/2021" the date you would get back would be "1/1/0001" (which isn't very helpful unless you're in the time travel business)
Typing In Dates
  • You can now type in dates with any of these formats:
    • 12/9/2021
    • Dec 9, 2021
    • December 9, 2021
    • December 9th, 2021
Calendar Date Picker

When every day feels like a Monday, the previous calendar date picker made it hard to see which day is today (it's a Thursday, by the way).

Calendar Date Picker

The new calendar date picker highlights today's date when you open the calendar so you can immediately see today in relation to the entire month.

Condense Repeat Jobs

The filter to control whether repeat jobs were condensed (collapsed into one row on the list) or not condensed (all repeat jobs showing on separate rows) was hidden away in the "Filter By" menu.

Condense Repeat Jobs

The filter to control whether repeat jobs are condensed or not will now appear above the jobs list so you can easily toggle this setting on or off depending on your preferred view of repeat jobs.

Route Optimization Help Article Resources

We hope you have been taking advantage of the new and improved route optimization that was released a few weeks ago. In case you missed it, you can learn more about it here: 11/18/2021 Release - Route Optimization With: Time Windows, Departure Location, Departure Time, Drive Time, Job Duration, Traffic, and more

One additional improvement we've made to this experience is to provide a link straight to help resources if route optimization fails for any reason. When a route optimization error appears you will now see a "Learn More" link that takes you to this article for help resolving issues: Glossary of Route Optimization Errors.

Fixed

  • Refund Details Page: We have resolved an issue where if a discount was entered for a refund while creating a refund, the discount line was not appearing on the refund details page after submitting the form.
  • Edit Payment Form: We have also resolved an issue where if you were editing a payment associated to an invoice, and if the list of invoices on the form had more than one page, when you changed pages on the invoice list, the invoices could become unchecked. Now, if you edit a payment, regardless of which page the invoice is on, the invoice will stay checked in the invoice list if you change pages and only will become unchecked if you uncheck it manually.
  • Service Reminders: The state name will now appear correctly on service reminder site addresses in the Service Reminders report.
