Add Customer and Site Types

Not every customer or location you service is the same. By adding Customer and Site Types, you can classify each one of your customers and their locations with an appropriate designation.

Common custom site types you can add include: Oil & Gas, Agricultural, Restaurant, Event, Construction, Municipal, etc.

Before You Start

Here are some things to know before you create site types:

How to Add Customer and Site Types

Follow these steps to add Customer and Site Types:

  1. Navigate to the Settings pagemceclip0.png
  2. Click on Custom Fields Settings tabmceclip5.png
  3. Click on the Customer/Site Types tabmceclip0.png
  4. Click Add Typemceclip1.png
  5. A lightbox appearsmceclip3.png
  6. Enter in Type Name (must be unique)mceclip2.png
  7. Click Add Customer/Site Type

After You Create New Customer and Site Types

Next time you create a customer or a site, you'll be able to select which type you'd like to designate for the customer or location you're adding.

For Customers, this will be selectable from the Customer Type dropdown menu under Billing when creating or editing a customer.mceclip3.png

For Sites, this will be selectable from the Site Type dropdown menu under Basic Information when you add or edit a site.

How to Edit Customer/Site Types

Follow these steps to Edit Site Types:

  1. Navigate to the Settings pagemceclip0.png
  2. Click on Custom Fields Settings tabmceclip5.png
  3. Click on the Customer/Site Types tabmceclip0.png
  4. Click Edit Site Typemceclip4.png
  5. Update the information
  6. Click Save

How to Deactivate and Delete Customer and Site Types

Follow these steps to deactivate and delete site types:

  1. Navigate to Custom Fields: Customer/Site Types
  2. Click on the Dropdown Arrow for the Service you want to deactivate or delete
  3. Click "Deactivate Site Type" mceclip5.png
  4. Click the "Filter by" button and check the box for "Show Inactive Types"mceclip6.png
