ServiceCore allows you to set up System Types to categorize and organize the systems you work with, such as septic tanks, grease traps, and other serviceable units. Once created, System Types can be used when adding systems to sites or tracking volume by System Type in reports.
Before You Start
Here are a few things to know before you continue:
- Every System Type must have a unique name.
- ServiceCore offers 10 default system types:
- Aerobic
- Cesspool
- Exterior Grease
- Grease
- Grit Chamber
- Holding Tanks
- Interior Grease
- Other
- Pump Stations
- Septic
- System Types appear as selectable options when adding systems to sites and in other related areas of ServiceCore.
- Systems can be used with non-rental Job Types and Septic Job Types.

Add a System Type
To add a System Type, follow these steps:
- Click your name in the top right corner.
- Select “Settings.”
- Click “Custom Fields.”
- Select “System Types.”

Click the “Add System Type” button.
- Enter a System type name. (e.g. Septic Tank - Commercial)

Click the “Add System Type” button.
Manage System Types
Edit or Deactivate a System Type
Once a system type has been created, you can edit or deactivate it.
- Click the down arrow in line with a system type.
- Select “Edit System Type” or “Deactivate System Type.”
View Inactive System Types
To see system types that have been deactivated:
- Click the “Filter” button.
- Enable “Show inactive system types” in the menu.
Your inactive system types will appear grayed out in your system types list. Use the down arrow in line with the inactive system type to edit, activate, or permanently delete it.
