Your Chart of Accounts allows you to organize your financial accounts within ServiceCore. Adding accounts helps you track income and manage refund-related activity based on your business structure and reporting needs.
Before You Start
Here are a few things to know before you continue:
- If you’re integrating QuickBooks Online (QBO), all of your accounts will automatically sync over and be displayed in your Chart of Accounts.
- Accounts that sync from QuickBooks Online cannot be edited in ServiceCore.
- Services will require Income type accounts.
- Refunds will require Bank or Other Current Assets type accounts.

Add an Account
- Click your name in the top-right corner.
- Select “Settings.”
- Click “Accounting.”
- Select “Chart of Accounts.”

Click the “Add Account” button.
- Enter a unique Name.
- This should be 31 characters or less, including spaces and should be easily recognizable by you and your accounting team.
- Select an Account Type.
- Income is for accounts related to payments to your business while Bank and Other Current Assets are for accounts related to refunds.
- Enter a short Code to identify this account.
- This field is typically used to organize your financial accounts into a hierarchy.

Click “Add New Income Account.”
Use Chart of Accounts
After you’ve created your accounts, it’s time to start using them! Your accounts can be selected when adding or editing services and surcharges as well as when creating a refund.
Services and Surcharges
When adding or editing a service or surcharge, select an Income Account from the drop-down menu.
Refunds
When creating or editing a refund, select a Bank or Other Current Assets Account using the Account drop-down in the Refund Method section.
Manage Accounts
Once an account has been created, you can edit or deactivate it.
- Click the down arrow in line with an account.
- Select to Edit Account or Deactivate Account.
TIP: Use Filter to narrow your list of accounts by Status. You can view Inactive classes and reactivate if needed.
