Credit Memos and Refunds

After price books came out, have you thought about what you're going to do with those filing cabinets full of three ring binders sitting in your office right now with pages of information about the prices you charge customers for products and services?

In ServiceCore you can now digitize and organize price rules for residential and municipal customers. You can create price books for sites in different territories. Or create custom price books for your VIP customers or special accounts.


What Can I Do Starting Today?

To see where and how to create price books in your account, check out this step-by-step guide: How to Create Price Books in Settings.

Once you've created a price book or two (or ten!), you will now see price books rate options appear on more accounting transaction forms. This means that instead of only the standard/default rate appearing when you add services, you'll be able to choose from price book rates. The new price book rate options will appear on these forms:

  • Create Credit Memo
  • Create Refund

What Will I See On Forms?

On these forms, when a price book applies to a service line item, you'll see a list of price books to choose from in the Rate field, like this:


If you choose nothing, the standard/default rate will apply to that line item. If you choose one of the price book rate options, the Rate field will be replaced with the new dollar amount.

Customer Details Page

If you have price books, you will now see price books that apply to customers in a new Price Books tab on the customer details page. Price books that match this customer or this customer's type will appear on this page:
