    Joy and Rick,

As of April 27, 2020, you should now be able to edit the invoice date when creating invoices from a recurring invoice.

What we did at the end of April was to split the two forms you use to create invoices:

    1. Create Invoice
    2. Create Recurring Invoice

The Recurring Invoice, now, like it did before, acts like a "template" from which you can create each next invoice. For the recurring invoice, there is no "invoice date", rather, there is a recurring invoice Start date.

    • For a recurring invoice for a rental, the Start date defaults to the same day as the first delivery job
    • For a recurring invoice for non-rental jobs, or for rentals where the delivery date has not been specified, the Start date defaults to today's date
    • For either recurring invoice scenario, you can change the invoice start date to any date you want

After you create and save a recurring invoice, then when you're ready to create your first invoice, you will click on the Create Next Invoice button which can be found:

    1. On the Accounting > Recurring tab for each recurring invoice
    2. On a rental details page in the Recurring invoice section

Once you click Create Next Invoice, the invoice form you see will have an Invoice date field where you can enter whatever date you want.

If you have any follow up questions, or still need assistance, feel free to submit a request to our support team and we'll be happy to help you out.

Thanks again for your original suggestion!

    Hello Joy,

Thank you so much for your feedback.

We currently have to enforce the invoice date because when creating a recurring template, the system also creates the first invoice. We will separate these 2 functionalities soon, and then the invoice date will be editable.

I will investigate why you couldn't edit the invoice date on an existing /already created invoice, and get back with you.

    Apologies for the inconvenience!

    Regards,

    Jana McKay
