ServiceCore's Pro Messaging feature sends automated text messages to site contacts based on active jobs and rentals. Before any site contact can receive a text message, you need to turn text messaging on for them. Text messaging is off by default for all site contacts. You must manually enable it for each contact you want to receive messages. Only site contacts receive text messages. Main customer contacts do not.
Before You Start
Here are a few things to know before you continue:
- To see if you have access to this feature in ServiceCore, please check out this article on user permission levels.
- SMS text messaging is only available on ServiceCore’s Pro Plan. Your account must complete 10DLC compliance registration before SMS can be used. For more information, check out our Register for SMS Campaigns article.
- The moment you enable text messaging for a site contact, ServiceCore immediately sends them the Intro Message. Make sure you're ready for that first contact before toggling someone on.
- Only site contacts receive text messages. Main customer contacts will not receive texts unless they are also a site contact.
Enable Text Messaging for All Site Contacts on a Customer
Use this option when you want to turn on text messaging for every site contact associated with a customer in one step. You can do this when creating a new customer or when editing an existing one.
To enable text messaging for all site contacts of a customer, follow these steps:
- Add a New Customer or Edit a Customer.
- Scroll to the bottom of the page.
- In Site Messaging Settings, toggle “Enable messaging for all site contacts for customer” to on.
- Click “Close” if editing or “Add New Customer” to save.
Enable Text Messaging for a Single Site Contact
Use this option when you want to enable text messaging for one specific site contact without affecting other contacts on the same customer.
To enable text messaging for a single site contact, follow these steps:
- Open a site.
- Click the “Contacts” tab.
- Locate the contact you want to enable and click the “mail” icon in their row.
Update Text Messaging Settings During Rental Creation
When you're creating a new rental, you can review and update text messaging settings for the customer and their site contacts without leaving the Create Rental form. This is useful for confirming or adjusting messaging preferences at the time you set up the rental.
To update text messaging settings during rental creation, follow these steps:
- Create a new rental and select a customer and site.
- Click “Update Messaging” under Site Contact Messaging.
- In the Update Messaging Options slide-out, toggle text messaging on or off for the customer and site contacts as needed.
- Click “Update Options” to save.
