Find Records Using Global Search

Use global search in ServiceCore to quickly find customers, jobs, rentals, sites, or systems without navigating between pages. This is especially helpful when you need to pull up information while on a call or move between workflows efficiently.

Before You Start

Here are a few things to know before you continue:

  • Global search is available anywhere in ServiceCore.
  • Search results depend on the information saved in each record.
  • The actions you can take from search results depend on your user permission level. For more information about permission levels, please review this article.

Use Global Search

  1. Click the “magnifying glass” icon in the top-right corner. 



     

  2. Select a Search Category in the drop-down menu.
  3. Type your search term in the search box. Depending on the selected category, you can search using the following:
    • Customers: Search by customer ID, name, company/organization, address, city, zip, phone, or email.
    • Jobs: Search by job number, customer name, or address.
    • Rentals: Search by rental number, customer name, or address.
    • Sites: Search by site number, site name, address, city, or zip code.
    • Systems: Search by system name, system type, customer name, or site name.
  4. Press “Enter” on your keyboard or click the "magnifying glass" icon next to the search box to pull up the search results.

In your list of results, options will appear so you can open the record or take action.

Best Practices 

  • Use partial information if you are unsure of the exact spelling.
  • Switch between categories if you do not see what you are looking for right away.
  • Double-check spelling if no results appear.
