The Sales by Tax Code Report shows you the tax collected on your invoices, credit memos, and adjustments, broken down by tax code, tax component, and tax agency.
Use this report when you need to verify your tax liability for a period, reconcile your tax totals, or pull data for filing tax returns. It's especially useful for spotting discrepancies across your tax codes before you file.
Before You Start
- To see if you have access to this feature in ServiceCore, please check out this article on user permission levels.

Sales by Tax Code Report Summary
The top of the report gives you a quick snapshot of the tax you've collected for the selected date range.
- Total Tax: The total amount of tax collected across all invoices in the selected date range.
- Top 10 Tax Codes: A bar chart showing your ten most-used tax codes and how much tax each has generated. Use this to quickly spot which tax codes are driving the most tax liability for your business.
Please Note: The report also displays the date range currently being reported on directly below the title, so you can confirm you're looking at the right period before reviewing totals.
Details Table
The Details Table gives you a line-by-line breakdown of every tax code and tax component in your account, along with links to the records that created the tax amount.
Each row represents a specific tax code and tax component combination. A tax code can have more than one component tied to it, so the same tax code may appear more than once if it has multiple components.
Click the "+" icon next to a row to expand it and see the individual records that make up that tax code and component's totals. Click the “+” icon next to Tax Code Name to expand all rows in the table.
Records listed in the Doc Number column are hyperlinked. Click the number to open the record directly without leaving the reports.
