The Transfer feature/steps shown below are coming soon. If you don't have access to Yards in your ServiceCore account yet, you will in the near future.
If your business uses more than one yard location to store its inventory at, ServiceCore offers you a way to transfer your units between your different yards.
It's important to track your inventory movements in ServiceCore to keep your availability counts accurate.
Before You Start
Here are some things you should know before you continue:
- To see if you have access to this feature in ServiceCore, please check out this article on user permission levels.
- You cannot transfer products or items that are associated with a rental or job.
- To learn more about products in ServiceCore, click here.
- To learn more about itemizing your products, click here.
Internal Product/Item Transfers
There are 2 ways to log a yard transfer for a product and/or items:
- Internal transfers that immediately update your yards in ServiceCore to reflect the current physical location of the unit(s). This is best for logging transfers that have already occurred.
- Transfer jobs that are assigned to a driver who will actually move the unit to update its location. Once the job is marked Complete, ServiceCore will update your yard to reflect the change.
Internally Transfer Non-Itemized Products
To log an internal transfer for a non-itemized product, follow the instructions below:
- Click into "Rentals".
- Click into "Inventory".
- Click into "Transfers".
- Select the From and To yards that you're transferring the product(s) between.
- Add a note about the transfer, if needed.
- Enter the total number of individual units you've relocated to the other yard. You can adjust multiple products' quantities if you need to log multiple product transfers at the same time.
- Click "Confirm Transfer" to update your yards in ServiceCore.
You'll now see the product(s) in the yard you selected earlier and the Audit Log for that yard will show an Internal Transfer activity.
Internally Transfer Itemized Products (Items)
To log an internal transfer for an itemized product's individual units, follow the instructions below:
- Click into "Rentals".
- Click into "Inventory".
- Click into "Transfers".
- Select the From and To yards that you're transferring the item(s) between.
- Add a note about the transfer, if needed.

- Click "Confirm" to save your selection(s).
- Click "Confirm Transfer" to update your yards in ServiceCore.
You'll now see the product(s) in the yard you selected earlier and the Audit Log for that yard will show an Internal Transfer activity.
If you click on the product, you'll see a list of all the serial numbers that were relocated.
Transfer Jobs for Products/Items
There are 2 ways to log a yard transfer for a product and/or items:
- Internal transfers that immediately update your yards to reflect the current physical location of the unit(s).
- Transfer jobs that are assigned to a driver who will actually move the unit to update its location. Once the job is marked Complete, ServiceCore will update your yard to reflect the change.
Create a Transfer Job for Itemized and Non-Itemized Products
The workflow to create a transfer job for both itemized and non-itemized products is the same.
Please Note: When creating a transfer job for itemized products, the assigned driver completing the job will be the one who determines which of the individual units are actually moved between yards. If you'd prefer units with specific serial numbers be transferred, we recommend adding that as a driver note to the transfer job.
To create a transfer job for a non-itemized product, follow the instructions below:
- Click into "Rentals".
- Click into "Inventory".
- Click into "Transfers".
- Select the From and To yards that you're transferring the item(s) between.
- Check the box next to Create Transfer Job.
- Select the day the job should be scheduled on.
- Select a driver to assign this job to. You can also wait to assign the driver until the day of the job.
- Add a note about the transfer for the assigned driver, if needed, such as when transferring units with specific serial numbers.
- Enter the total number of individual units the driver needs to relocate to the other yard.
TIP: Depending on how you organize your drivers' routes, it may make more sense to create separate transfer jobs if the driver has to make more than one transfer trip between yards. - Click "Confirm Transfer" to schedule the job.
You'll now see a transfer job on your Schedule that you can edit, if needed. The assigned driver will see a transfer job in the mobile app just like other jobs that are assigned to them for the day.
Please Note: Drivers cannot use a status other than Complete when handling transfer jobs in the mobile app. If a driver attempts to use a different status other than Complete (like Unable to Service), they'll receive an error message. This is because we want to ensure your inventory is moved how and when you need it.
