View and Edit Job Completion Notes

Job completion notes allow you and your drivers to document important information about a job after it has been completed. This includes details about the service performed, issues encountered, or updates for the customer or internal team. Completion notes can be viewed and edited in ServiceCore to maintain accurate records.

Before You Start

Here are a few things to know before you continue:

  • Jobs that are scheduled or in progress will not have job completion notes.
  • Only jobs that are marked completed, partial service, or unable to service will have job completion notes.
  • You can add new notes or edit existing notes for jobs marked done.
  • Job completion notes are optional, though highly recommended.

View Job Completion Notes

There are several ways to open up a completed job to view the completion notes. If you are a dispatcher, you’ll most likely start the process from the Schedule, but completion notes are located on the completed job details page, so there are several ways to get to that page.

  1. On the Schedule, find and hover over the completed job. You will need to tap the completed job if you are using a touchscreen. 



     

  2. Click the hyperlinked Job Number.



     

  3. In the window that appears, review the Job Completion Notes. 



     

TIP: If the Job Completion Notes section does not appear, then this job has no job completion notes. ServiceCore recommends as best practice recommends technicians take notes on all jobs.
 

In addition to viewing the completed job from the Schedule, another common way is from a customer’s profile by clicking the job number linked in the Last Completed Job section or reviewing the customer’s job list.
 

Edit Job Completion Notes

There are several ways to open up a completed job’s details page to edit job completion notes. If you are a dispatcher, you’ll most likely start the process from the Schedule, but completion notes are located on the completed job details page and there are several ways to get to that page.

  1. On the Schedule, find and hover over the completed job. You will need to tap the completed job if you are using a touchscreen. 



     

  2. Click the hyperlinked Job Number.



     

  3. Click the “Actions” button.
  4. Hover over “Edit.”
  5. Select “Edit Job Completion” in the pop-out menu.



     

  6. Scroll down to Job Completion Notes and add or edit the note.



     

  7. Scroll down and click the “Save” button to save your changes.


Job Completion Notes Best Practices

  • Record all relevant details immediately after the job is completed to avoid missing information.
  • Keep notes concise and clear for future reference.
  • Use consistent terminology so the entire team will understand each other’s notes.
