In the coming weeks, you will notice a refreshed experience to the Create & Edit workflow for transactions. This includes Credit Memos, Refunds, Estimates, One-Time Invoices, and Recurring Invoices. These changes were made as part of a bigger refresh of the user experience, to align closer with common accounting software, and to make room for exciting new features like line item taxes!
The updates are specific to the way you add or edit a service or a surcharge. The updated workflow includes an improved search when looking for a service or a surcharge.
Additionally, when you add or edit a service or a surcharge, this will now take place in a modal (commonly referred to as a popup). Navigation is easy inside the modal as you can tab and enter from field to field if you wish to not use your mouse.
If a Price Book is applicable, it can be selected via the dropdown next to the Rate. Highlighted in orange, below.
Lastly, if the service or surcharge is taxable, you can indicate that by checking the invoice tax checkbox.
Once you save, you'll then be able to clearly see the details of that service/line item. If the service is taxable, that's indicated by the $ icon beneath the Amount, as indicated by the orange arrow below.
If you wish to edit the line item, then click on the pencil button, and if you wish to delete, click on the trashcan.
To add another line item, click into the search box and repeat the process outlined above.
