ServiceCore offers several ways to save and send attachments for customers, jobs and invoices using the web app and the mobile app. Share job site photos, save warranty documents, record visual damage, attach contract documents and more.
In this article you'll learn about attachments, including where to find them, file size limitations and supported file formats.
Before You Start
Here are a few things to keep in mind before you use attachments in the ServiceCore web app or mobile app:
- In order to view files, you must have a program installed on your computer, laptop, tablet or mobile device that can open and view the attachment
- You will need to have sufficient storage space available on your computer or device to download the file
- Message and/or data rates may apply when downloading attachments via cellular data service
Files Sizes and Supported File Formats
Number of Attachments
How many files can you attach? As many as you'd like! You can attach unlimited files in each location where attachments are supported as long as each file abides by the file size and file format rules below.

Here are a few things to keep in mind before attaching files:
- Each individual file must be less than 6MB in size
- For documents that will be sent as email attachments, such as when you send an invoice, estimate or credit memo by email, the combined size of all attachments together must be less than 20MB

Basic File Types
- .jpeg, .jpg, .png, . gif, .bmp - Image files
- .txt - Text files
Microsoft File Types
- .doc and .docx - Microsoft Word documents
- .xls and .xlsx - Microsoft Excel spreadsheets
- .ppt and .pptx - Microsoft PowerPoint presentations
Adobe File Types
- .pdf - Adobe PDF documents
- .ai - Illustrator
- .eps, .ps - Postscript
- .svg - Scalable Vector Graphics
- .tif, .tiff - Tagged Image File Format
Where to Attach Files
Via the Web App
Attachments can be added within the following sections of the ServiceCore web app:
- Within each Customer details page in the Attachments tab
- On the Add new system form in the Attachments section
- Within each Job details page in the Attachments section
- On the Create Invoice form in the Attachments section
- On the Create Estimate form in the Attachments section
- On the Create Credit Memo form in the Attachments section
Via the Mobile App
Photo attachments can be added via the Mobile App during job completion. This is a great way to save job site and inventory photos for jobs. At this time, only photos can be added using the mobile app.
To upload attachments (photos) for a job using the mobile app, follow these steps:
- Once the job is completed, tap Complete Job at the bottom of the screen
- Fill out the information on the form
- Scroll down to the Attachments section
- Tap Upload Attachment
- Take a photo using the camera screen that appears
- Tap the Camera or take photo icon (the icon will vary depending on the mobile device you are using)
- If you are happy with the photo, tap Ok or to take a new photo, tap Cancel
- Repeat the steps above to attach additional photos
- Capture the customer signature if applicable
- Tap Mark as Done
How To Open and View Attachments
Depending on which browser you are using, and your browser settings, you may have different options to open, view, download, and print attachments.
When you click on an attachment, the file may:
- Open immediately in a new browser tab or window
- Show a dialogue box that prompts you to save the file to your local harddrive or internal/SD storage card
- Immediately download to the file/folder location you have setup by default
- Show an icon, warning or alert asking if you want to download the file
- For example, on Safari you may see a blue download icon before you can open and view attachments
