The Line Item Report provides a comprehensive breakdown of sales, quantities, and transactional details across your ServiceCore account. This report is used to track service volume and performance by line item, understand revenue contribution by account or class, and investigate invoice-level activity tied to specific customers and services. With flexible grouping and detailed filters, the report supports forecasting, billing validation, and operational planning.
Before You Start

Key Features
- Summary: Displays key metrics that can be grouped by line item, account, or class.
- Filtering Options: Users can filter the report by customer, class, transaction type, and line item.
- Detailed Estimates Breakdown: Provides detailed information about each line item including, customer, transaction type, invoice number, and totals
Run the Line Item Report
- Click “Reports” in the top menu.
- Scroll down and find Line Item Report listed under Customer Service and Sales Reports.
- Click the name of the report or the “Open Report” icon to open and run the report.
Line Item Report Summary
Once the report loads, the summary at the top gives you a quick snapshot of your line item and associated sales. Use this summary to spot trends and see which line items are driving the most revenue.
This section provides key insights, including:
- Quantity: Total quantity of line items. Partial numbers indicate prorated quantities.
- Subtotal: Quantity of line items multiplied by their rates, before taxes and discounts.
- Discounts: Total amount of discounts provided.
- Total Invoiced Amount: Subtotal + Taxes - Discounts (net of refunds and credits).
- Sales by Line Item Graph: Pie chart that displays the breakdown of the percentage of each line item of the quantity.
- Line Item Table: Table that shows total quantity and subtotal for each line item.
This section can also be configured to display volume pumped by:
- Line Item
- Account
- Class
Line Item Report Filters and Table
At the top of the report, there are options to select a timeframe and filter results.
- Date Type Control: Select whether to filter the report by Invoice or Service Date. This defaults to last month.
- As of Date*: Choose the date range for the report.
- Customer Name: Filter report by customer.
- Class: Narrow results by internal business class.
- Transaction Type: Filter results by invoice, credit memo, or refund.
- Line Item: Narrow results to show specific services or products.
In addition to the filters that appear at the top of the report, you can select “All Filters” to use additional filters for your report.
Additional filters include:
- Division: Filter report by division.
- Taxable: Narrow results by whether line items are taxable.
- Account Name: Filter report by account name.
- Account Code: Narrow results by account code.

Company Name: Narrow list of estimates by Company.
- This filter is only applicable if you manage multiple companies in ServiceCore.
Details Table
The table under the summary breaks down each line item and provides additional details including invoice number, description, and totals.
Sort a Section of the Report
After using the filters based on your preferences, you have additional options to sort the data that is presented in the report in the different report sections.
To sort the report summary sections:
- Hover over the section so a menu appears in the top right corner of the section.
- Click the three vertical dots.
- In the menu that appears, hover over “Sort.”
- Select your “Sort By” preference.
The table in the report works a little differently as you can use the headers of the columns to sort.
To sort sections using the column headers:
- Click the options icon next to the header.
- Select your sort preference or click the gear icon for additional options.
- Each column can be sorted either alphabetically A-Z or Z-A OR numerically ascending or descending. For instance, the Invoiced Quantity column will sort numerically while the Line Item column will sort alphabetically.
Export or Send the Line Item Report
Export the Report
Once you have a section of your report displaying the information you want, you can download it for your records.
- Hover over the section so a menu appears in the top right corner of the table.
- Click the three vertical dots.
- In the menu that appears, hover over “Export.”
- Select your file preference in the list of options that appear in the dropdown and the report will download in the file format you selected.
- When exporting as a PDF, you can choose Portrait or Landscape layout.
- When exporting as a PDF, you can choose Portrait or Landscape layout.
Please Note: You can export up to 1 million rows at a time. If your table contains more than 1 million rows, we recommend using filters to break the data into smaller, exportable chunks.
Send the Report
In addition to downloading a section of the report to your computer, you can also email a section.
- Hover over the section so a menu appears in the top right corner of the table.
- Click the three vertical dots.
- In the menu that appears, hover over “Export.”

Click “Export…” at the bottom of the list under the Send section.

In the pop-up that appears, click the “Email” icon.
- Enter the email address of the recipient.

Click “Export” to send an email with the report attached.
Please Note: On the final screen, you can also customize the email subject, select specific attachments and file types, or send the report as a .zip file.
