Add a Destination

Destinations in ServiceCore represent locations that your drivers may travel to during the workday. These locations can include places like your yard, office, landfill, fuel station, or other frequently visited sites.

Adding destinations allows you to include these stops when building routes and planning daily schedules. Once created, destinations can be used when optimizing routes and calculating total route time on the Schedule.

Before You Start

Here are a few things to know before you continue:

  • Destinations are commonly used when creating routes and optimizing schedules.
  • You can optionally add a duration to account for time spent at that location when calculating route time.
  • To see if you have access to view, edit, or delete destinations, please review this article on user permission levels.

Add a Destination in Settings

To add a destination in your settings, follow these steps:

  1. Click your name in the top-right corner.
  2. Select “Settings.”
  3. Click “Schedule.”
  4. Select "Preferences."
  5. Below your Territory list, click the “Add Destination” button. 



     

  6. Enter a Name. (e.g. Main Office, Jefferson WTP, Cochise County Landfill)
  7. Select the Country of this location using the drop-down menu.
  8. Enter the Address of the location. 
    • TIP: Allow your browser to access your location for helpful autofill suggestions. Using autofill may automatically populate the City, State, and Zip/Province fields.
  9. Enter the City.
  10. Select the State / Province.
  11. Enter the Zip / Postal Code. 
  12. Check the box if This is a Disposal Site. (Optional)
    • TIP: Enable this option if you want to track and report on the amount of waste disposed of at this location (non-rental job types only).
  13. Check the box for Geolocate Destination to automatically retrieve or manually enter coordinates for this location. (Optional)
  14. Enter a Duration to indicate how long drivers typically spend at this destination. (Optional)
    • TIP: Adding a duration helps calculate total route time on the Schedule.
  15. Click the “Add New Destination" button to save.
     

Add a Destination on Schedule

In addition to adding a destination in Settings, you can also add one from the Day or Week View of the Schedule. Click the “Add Destination” button at the bottom of your list of destinations to open the window for creating a new destination.
