Routes in ServiceCore organize recurring jobs for a technician on a specific day, letting dispatchers schedule work in a predictable order each week. By creating a saved route, dispatchers can quickly schedule work in a predictable order without needing to reorganize the route each week.
Saved routes are ideal for businesses with weekly recurring jobs. Once created, jobs appear in the same order each week on the Schedule page, helping drivers follow a consistent route.
Before You Start
Here are a few things to know before you continue:
- The technician for the route must already exist in your account.
- Jobs must already be created and assigned to that technician.
- Jobs can only be added to a route if they repeat once per week. Any other type of job or repeat job cannot be added to a route.
- At least one destination must exist in your account to use as the route’s start and end point. To learn more about adding destinations, please review this article.
- To see if you have user permissions to add a route, please review this article.

After choosing the technician and day, the map will display pins representing that technician’s scheduled jobs.

Map Tools
Use the map to select the jobs that should be included in the saved route.
- Map / Satellite Toggle: Switch between standard Map view and Satellite view for additional detail.
- Hand Tool: Click this tool to grab the map and move it to your desired location.
- Box (Lasso) Tool: Click this tool to select multiple jobs by drawing a box around map pins.

Select Jobs
Once you have the job pins you would like to add to the route displayed on the map, there are two ways to select jobs to the route.

- Draw a box, using the Box (Lasso) Tool around multiple pins to add them.
Review and Organize Route Jobs
After selecting jobs from the map, they will appear in a list below the map.
From this list you can:
- Remove jobs by clicking the trash icon.
- Reorder jobs manually by dragging them using the six-dot handle.
- Optimize the route by clicking the “Optimize Route” button.
Optimizing the route rearranges jobs into the most efficient driving order based on each job’s location.
Please Note: The order shown in the route list becomes the default job order on the Schedule page each week.
Name and Save Route
The final step before saving your route is giving it a recognizable name.
- Enter a Route Name that clearly identifies the technician and day like “Jen Tuesday Route” or “Jeff Monday.”
- Click “Save.”
Routes on the Schedule
After creating a route, you’ll be able to easily identify it on the Schedule. The letter "R" listed on jobs on the schedule indicates that these jobs are part of an established route.
Manage Routes
If you need to edit or delete a route, follow these steps:
- Navigate to Settings > Schedule > Routes.
- Click the down arrow in line with the route.
- Click “Edit Route” or “Delete Route.”
Route Best Practices
- Remember to review and adjust saved routes as needed when weekly recurring jobs start or stop.
- Jobs added to a technician later do not automatically appear in existing saved routes. You will need to add them manually if they should be part of the route.
- Additional jobs can still be assigned to the technician for the same day, but dispatchers may need to manually review or optimize the route so the day’s job order remains efficient.
