ServiceCore takes the guesswork out of scheduling by providing you with useful information to help dispatch your jobs.

Schedule Suggestions display valuable information such as: driver proximity, job type, total same day jobs, and total distance traveled.

You can use this information to help reduce total miles traveled, balance your drivers' workloads and make the day more fuel efficient.

In this article, you'll learn how to use Schedule Suggestion.

Before You Start

Here are some things to know before you use Schedule Suggestion:

• You must have Manager, Admin or Owner level permission to use this feature
• Miles shown for Closest Job and Total Daily Miles are "as the crow flies" and do not factor in natural barriers (such as lakes or mountains) or roads and bridges that may not be appropriate for your trucks
• You can get Schedule Suggestions when creating a new job, a new rental, or from various schedule views

How Schedule Suggestion Works

Schedule Suggestion works by:

• Taking the site location of the new job you are creating
• Looking at all the jobs you already have scheduled
• Displaying existing jobs with the closest location to your new job

The information that gets displayed for closes jobs includes:

• Technician Name
• Distance to job site
• Job Type
• Scheduled Date
• Total Same Day Jobs for the technician
• Total Daily Miles for the technician

Use Schedule Suggestion

When Creating a New Job

To use Schedule Suggestion for a new job, follow these steps:

1. Navigate to Create Job by clicking the (+) icon in the ServiceCore Header
2. From the list of options that appear, click Create Job
3. Fill out the Job information
4. Click Schedule Suggestion below the Technician dropdown (if this link is grayed out, make sure you have selected a site location)
5. In the Schedule Suggestion lightbox that appears, you will see a map with pins and a list of jobs listed from closest to farthest
   
6. If you want to see jobs for the full week, click the Week view button below the map
   
7. On the week view, you will see map pins and jobs color-coded by day of week
8. Use the information on this screen to choose the closest job by type, distance, workload, etc.
9. Click the radio button for the row showing the technician with the closest or most similar job
   
   
   
10. Scroll down and click Select Technician
    
    
11. Return to the create job screen and verify that the technician and date are correct
12. Continue filling out the rest of the form
13. Once you're finished, click Save

When Creating A New Rental Job

To use Schedule Suggestion for a new rental job, follow these steps:

1. Navigate to Create Rental by clicking the (+) icon in the ServiceCore Header
2. From the list of options that appear, click Create Rental
3. Fill out the information for your jobs
4. Click Schedule Suggestion below the Date field (if this link is grayed out, make sure you have selected a site location)
5. In the Schedule Suggestion lightbox that appears, you will see a map with pins and a list of jobs listed from closest to farthest
6. If you want to see jobs for the full week, click the Week view button below the map
7. On the week view, you will see map pins and jobs color-coded by day of week
8. Use the information on this screen to choose the closest job by type, distance, workload, etc.
9. Click the radio button for the row showing the technician with the closest or most similar job
   
   
10. Scroll down and click Select Technician
    
    
11. Finish filling out remaining details on the create new rental form
12. Click Save
    

From the Schedule

If you need to reschedule a job, you can use Schedule Suggestion from within the Schedule. This makes it easy to choose an alternate technician or date for an existing job.

To use Schedule Suggestion to reschedule a job from the schedule, follow these steps:

1. Navigate to the Schedule
2. Select the Week View, Day View, List View or Map View to view your jobs
3. Locate the job you'd like to reschedule
4. Hover over the job
5. Click the Calendar Icon
   
   
6. In the Edit job schedule lightbox that appears, click Schedule Suggestion below the Day of field
   
7. In the Schedule Suggestion lightbox that appears, you will see a map with pins and a list of jobs listed from closest to farthest
8. If you want to see jobs for the full week, click the Week view button below the map
   
9. On the week view, you will see map pins and jobs color-coded by day of week
10. Use the information on this screen to choose the closest job by type, distance, workload, etc.
11. Click the radio button for the row showing the technician with the closest or most similar job
12. Once you've made your selection. scroll down and click Select Technician
    
13. Return to the Edit job Schedule lightbox and verify that day of and technician are correct
14. Click Reschedule
