Use the ServiceCore Mobile App to record the work you finished, add photos, and mark jobs as done in the field. Completing a job keeps your schedule up to date and gives the office a record of the work performed.
Please Note: This video shows ServiceCore Legacy, our previous app. Some screens and steps look different in the our new mobile app, but many of the same themes carry over.
Before You Start
Here are a few things to know before you continue:
- To see if you have access to this feature in ServiceCore, please check out this article on user permission levels.
- You must have the ServiceCore Mobile App installed and be logged in on your device.
- Technicians can only see jobs assigned to them in the Mobile App.
- Jobs that are unassigned or assigned to other users will not appear in your schedule.
- If a customer signature is required, the job must include a disclaimer before it can be completed.
- Jobs with customer signatures cannot be edited after they are completed.
- Septic jobs may have additional fields to fill out, plus invoicing and payment steps. To learn more, check out our article Complete Septic Jobs, Invoice, and Collect Payment on the Mobile App.
- If you lose signal while working, the app saves your changes and photos on your phone and sends them when your connection returns. To learn more, check out this article on our offline mode.
For Rental Jobs
Rental jobs need a few things done before you head out and while you work. This keeps your inventory records accurate.
If you complete rental jobs using the Mobile App, do the following before starting your route and while working:
- Download inventory before leaving cell service or Wi-Fi coverage.
- Confirm that all itemized inventory using barcodes or QR codes has been scanned and added.
Review and Add Job Details
Once work is complete, you can finish the job in the Mobile App. Some jobs may include required fields or additional details that must be completed before finishing the job.
Completion Status Overview
Your Completion Status tells the office what happened at the site. Choose the one that matches the work you did.
- Complete: All work was finished as expected.
- Partial Service: Only some of the work was finished and the rest needs to happen another time.
- Unable to Service: No work was done. For example, the site was inaccessible, equipment or inventory was unavailable, or something else kept you from working.
If you select “Partial Service” or “Unable to Service,” Job Completion Notes are required. You’ll see “Notes are required for this status” under the notes box until you add them.
The Completed On date and time and the Site Address fill in automatically.
Select a Disposal Site
If your job has a Disposal Site field, tap it and select the site where you dumped.
Add Job Completion Notes
Enter notes about the job and important information that the team should know. This is a required field when you select “Partial Service” or “Unable to Service” as the Completion Status for the job.
Send a Confirmation Email
A confirmation email lets your customer know the work is done. You’ll see the Customer Emails and Site Contact Emails that are on file for the job.
To send the email, turn on the toggle next to each address you want to receive it.
Attachments (Add Photos)
Photos show the office what you found and what you did, and they protect you if a customer questions the work. You can take photos or add ones you already have and each photo shows its upload status on the thumbnail, so you can tell if the office can see it yet.
In the Attachments section, you’ll see two buttons:
- Take Photo: Opens your phone’s own camera.
- Add from Library: Lets you pick photos you already have on your phone.
If you want to take a picture using their device’s camera, “Take Photo" you will be prompted to allow access to your camera and will need to tap “Allow.”
If you wish to add a picture that you have already taken, “Add from Library”, you will be prompted to allow access to your photo library, where you can choose their preference.
Please Note: If you don’t see “Add from Library,” your company may have it turned off. To learn more about taking photos, adding photos from your library, and fixing a photo that shows “Failed,” check out our article Take and Upload Job Photos Using the Mobile App.
Add Services
Add services to record extra work or charges that weren’t on the job when it was scheduled.
To add a service, tap “+ Add Service,” search for the service, and tap it to add it to the job. Each service shows a Qty and a Rate. Review them and adjust them if needed. To remove a service, tap the trash icon.
Capture a Customer Signature
If your job has a disclaimer, then you will have the option to capture a customer signature when you scroll to the bottom of your job.
Tap “Capture Signature” to open the signature page where the customer can write their signature in the box provided using their finger or a stylus if your touch screen allows it.
The signature box will open in landscape view, providing more space for capturing a signature.
After the customer signs, tap “Done” to add their signature to the job.
Complete a Job
When you’ve filled out the details, you’re ready to finish the job. Depending on the job type, you may have extra required fields.
To complete a job, follow these steps:
-
From the started job, tap “Complete Job.”
- Select the Completion Status that matches your work.
-
Add Job Completion Notes. They’re required for Partial Service and Unable to Service.
- Fill in any other required details for the job.
-

You’ll now go back to your schedule to see your next job.
Please Note: Septic jobs may have more fields to fill out, plus invoicing and payment steps after you tap “Submit.” See [LINK: Complete Septic Jobs, Invoice, and Collect Payment on the Mobile App].
View Completed Jobs
The app hides completed jobs from your schedule so you only see the work that’s left.
To see completed jobs, follow these steps:
- On “My Schedule”, tap the three dots in the top right corner.
- Tap “Show Completed Jobs.”
To hide them again, tap the three dots and tap “Hide Completed Jobs.”
