09/15/2026 - Audit Log, Deletion History Report, Auto-Fill Billing Period, Yard Filter on Jobs List, Job Completion Date Update, QuickBooks Field Lengths, Fixes

The items mentioned below will be available on September 15, 2026. This is a preview of what's coming in the next release. To see these new features once they go live, please perform a hard refresh in your browser and update your mobile app to the latest version (9.6.9). Here's how to Keep ServiceCore Up to Date.

New Feature: Audit Log

Audit Log is a new feature that shows what changed, who changed it, and when.

Audience: Audit Log-Enabled Accounts

What Changed

  • Audit Log is a new feature that captures the before and after values for a change, along with who made it and when.
  • On pages that previously showed a "View History" pop-up, that pop-up has been replaced with an Audit Log section at the bottom of the page.
  • This is rolling out to more customers over the coming days, so you may not see it in your account right away.

Why It Matters
When something changes in your account, knowing who and when often isn't enough. You need to know what changed too. Audit Log gives you that detail, so tracking down changes and resolving discrepancies takes less digging.

New Feature: Audit Log Deletion History Report

A new Deletion History report gives you a dedicated place to track which records have been deleted, when, and by whom.

Audience: Admins and Owners

What Changed

  • The Audit Log Deletion History report lives under a new Audit Log Reports section on the Reports page.
  • Each row represents one deleted record, not one click, so a single action that deletes multiple records shows up as separate entries.
  • The report distinguishes between records that were deleted and records that were deactivated.
  • Deletion history is available starting from April 2026. Activity before that date isn't included.
  • The report doesn't link back to the deleted record itself.

Why It Matters
When something goes missing from your account, knowing who deleted it and when helps you sort out what happened, without digging through support tickets or asking around the team.

New Feature: Auto-Fill Billing Period on One-Time Rental Invoices

One-time rental invoices can now automatically fill in the billing period with today's date.

Company Preferences _ ServiceCore (7).png

What Changed

  • A new Accounting preference, "Auto-fill billing period dates on one-time rental invoices," is available in your company settings.
  • When turned on, the billing period start and end dates on a one-time rental invoice automatically fill in with today's date.
  • When turned off, nothing changes. You'll still enter the billing period dates yourself.
  • This preference is separate from "Show billing period on one time invoice PDFs" under Printed and Emailed Documents.

Why It Matters
Entering billing period dates on every one-time rental invoice adds up if you create a lot of them. This preference removes that step for teams that want the speed, while keeping accurate manual entry as the default for everyone else.

New Feature: Yard Filter for Jobs List

You can now filter the Jobs list by Yard.

Audience: Yard Locations-Enabled Accounts

What Changed

  • A new Yard filter, using autocomplete search, is available on Jobs list views.
  • This makes it easier to see all jobs tied to a specific yard, which helps with troubleshooting and inventory management.
  • The filter is available on most Jobs list views, but not on the Ready for Invoice job list.

Why It Matters
When inventory or job counts don't line up, tracing the problem back to a specific location used to mean scanning your full jobs list. Filtering by yard lets you narrow in on just the jobs tied to that location.

Workflow Change: Scheduled Date Used for Job Completion Date

Job completion now defaults to the job's scheduled date instead of today's date.

Job Details _ ServiceCore (3).png

What Changed

  • When completing a job, the completion date now defaults to the job's originally scheduled date instead of today's date.
  • A new read-only field shows the scheduled date being used, with helper text to clarify why.
  • A quick-action button lets you switch to today's date instead, if that's more accurate for your situation.

Why It Matters
Billing and record-keeping are more accurate when the completion date reflects when the work was actually scheduled to happen, rather than whenever someone gets around to marking it done. The quick-action button keeps today's date one click away for the times you need it.

Feature Update: Longer Name and Label Fields for QuickBooks-Synced Accounts

Audience: QuickBooks Online-Synced Accounts

Several ServiceCore fields now accept longer names and labels to match what QuickBooks Online allows.

What Changed

  • Customer names now accept up to 127 characters, up from 31.
  • Site names now accept up to 127 characters, up from 31.
  • Tax Agency names now accept up to 255 characters, up from 41.
  • Tax Code and Tax Rate labels now accept up to 255 characters, up from 31.

Why It Matters
Shorter character limits meant longer QuickBooks Online names sometimes triggered sync errors or had to be trimmed, losing information along the way. Matching QuickBooks Online's limits means your full-length names and labels come over without those workarounds.

Fixes

Division Field on Estimates: Resolved an issue where the selected division would disappear when editing an existing estimate. Estimates now correctly retain their division after updates.

Edit Payment on Payments with a Removed Card: Fixed an issue where opening Edit Payment for a payment tied to a removed card showed an empty Credit/Debit Cards dropdown and failed to save with no error message. These payments can now be edited and saved successfully, and if no card is selected, you'll see a clear on-screen error instead.

Payment Funding Dates from CardConnect: Resolved an issue where Funding Date and related settlement details stopped populating on payment and deposit records for accounts using the funding-sync feature. Newly settled card and ACH payments will now show accurate Funding Dates and settlement details going forward. This fix does not backfill funding dates missed during the outage; a separate backfill for those historical records is planned for next week.

Reapplying a Payment's Remaining Balance: Fixed an issue where reapplying a payment's remaining balance to an invoice as account credit failed with a rounding-related error. Payments that balance to the penny now apply successfully.

Record Payment Invoice Filter Labeling: Resolved an issue where the From and To date fields on the Record Payment page didn't indicate which date they filtered by. The filter now clearly shows that it filters by Due Date.

Reports Company Folder Persistence (Pilot Reports users): Fixed an issue where reports copied into the Company Folder would disappear after refreshing the page. Reports now remain visible and accessible as expected.
